Hi all:
Further to blowing a 416 voice coil today I have just discovered that one of my 515-8g's has a creased and/or dented cone due to bad storage on my part, having bumped up against its mate in a starage bin en route to the barn. Nothing torn, coil doesn't rub, and it sounds just fine, comparing to the unharmed one.
I feel like a board-hog, starting up two threads in one day, if that's OK.
Question:
Apart from a recone is there a way to smooth it out?
Thanks again,
Jon
BTW The 515-8g's sound just great with the 828/100 sq. in. port size-more bass than I recall, with the same great midrange.

Hi Jon,
Bummer. Bad days could always be worse though. I was reading your plight while watching a "My Name Is Earl" rerun, and realized it isn't as bad as getting a nose ring from a nailgun, or getting your tounge caught in a mousetrap while licking off the peanut butter...
Post a pic, and we (might) be able to help.
